As a huge hockey fan, i don't believe there was a better advertisement for the game than yesterday's thriller between USA and Canada. if the U.S. had to lose, glad it was to Crosby - class act.

As for U.S., what i loved was the # of blue-collar, non All-Stars, who rose to the occasion. Though professional, they reminded me of our 1980s amateur team that stunned the Soviets.

Mitch - On the one hand I could not agree more the team played great throughout the entire Olympics and seeing as how the hockey analysts said "no more then 2 or maybe 3 of Team USA's players would make Team Canada" I think they did great and were a lot of fun to watch!

But on the other hand this was a two week event with basically double elimination while the NHL seemingly lasts forever and most of the teams end up making the playoffs - maybe the NHL could learn from the Olympics and shorten the season and or have less teams making the playoffs so that regular season games are more meaningful. As a life long NY Islander fan as much as I want them to make the playoffs it is shameful to think about the records of the 7th and 8th place teams. To be honest I won't watch another hockey game until April.
